It produces key agricultural goods such as coffee, mango, corn, and coconut, and is one of Mexico’s leadingcoconut producers.

 

The port of Acapulco remains one of Mexico’s most recognized destinations for national and international tourism.

Acapulco: Known globally for its beaches, cliffs, and nightlife; host of international events like the ATP Tennis Open, World Padel Tour Major, and soon the FootGolf World Cup 2026.

 

Taxco: A colonial town famous for its silver craftsmanship and beautiful baroque architecture.

 

Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo: Offers luxury resorts and a relaxed atmosphere ideal for families and ecotourism.

 

Guerrero’s coast features over 500 km of beaches and multiple eco-tourism zones, including turtle sanctuaries and diving sites.

Culture and Heritage

Guerrero has a rich cultural heritage, blending indigenous, colonial, and Afro-Mexican influences.

 

It is known for its music, cuisine, and traditional dances, including La Danza de los Tlacololeros and La Danza de los Diablos.

 

The state played a key role in Mexico’s Independence, being the home of national hero Vicente Guerrero, one of the country’s first presidents.

Travel and Connectivity

The Acapulco International Airport (ACA) offers direct flights from Mexico City, Dallas, and Houston, as well as charter flights from Canada and South America.​

The highway network connects Acapulco with Mexico City in just 4 hours via the Autopista del Sol.
